ABOUT

“While cooking demands your entire attention, it also rewards you with endlessly sensual pleasures... The seductive softness of chocolate beginning to melt from solid to liquid. The tug of sauce against the spoon when it thickens in the pan, and the lovely lightness of Parmesan drifting from the grater in gossamer flakes. Time slows down in the kitchen, offering up an entire universe of small satisfactions.” ― Ruth Reichl, Garlic and Sapphires: The Secret Life of a Critic in Disguise

As food aficionados, my husband and I have had the good fortune of exploring sumptuous cuisines from all over the world. Our love and passion for food wasn't limited to restaurant tables and take-out meals -- soon, we brought them to our kitchen where we explored, created and shared. While some were complete disasters, others were approved and devoured by our closest friends, family and picky eaters (like our girls). Over time, I played with recipes and ingredients --my repertoire expanded with my confidence and my kitchen became my good, ol' playground.

However, I also realized that in this world where time passes at a staggering speed, no one has the energy left for intricate recipes, endless ingredients and mind-boggling instructions. I saw for most cooking felt like a chore and not something therapeutic. Today, most are in the lookout for something simple, quick yet nonetheless delicious (Hmm... healthy too!)

Many would relate to this, “I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and say to myself  "well, that's not going to happen”  ― Rita Rudner

Hurry Curry is my attempt to provide you just that. Nifty recipes that you can whip in a jiffy and ways to make even the most complicated of recipes feasible. Recipes that don't add stress or anxiety but stimulate you to explore, experiment and evolve!
